Nguyen Tat Thanh University Reported to the Ministry of Education and Training about the Education 4.0 Model

Headed by the Deputy Minister of Education and Training, Professor Dr. Bui Van Ga, the report session on the Project 4.0 of Nguyen Tat Thanh University was joined by Professor Nguyen Huu Duc (Vietnam National University, Hanoi), Dr. Le Dong Phuong (Vietnam’s Institute of Educational Science), Mr. Tran Nam Tu, Mr. Phan The Hung, Ms. Pham Thi Hoa, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Thuy (Ministry of Education and Training),…., and other figures in the education field.

The Education 4.0 model is a smart education model that connects together universities, policy makers, and business employers, as well as incorporating information technology into the schools to enhance teaching efficacy and allow the teaching-learning activity to take place anywhere or anytime. The Education 4.0 environment is not only a place for research and training but also a center for nurturing creativity, spurring entrepreneurship spirit among students, and increasing intellectual productivity in order to deliver high social values and meet the development demand of Vietnam in this era of industrial revolution 4.0.

Understanding this trend of education 4.0, Nguyen Tat Thanh University has already integrated the model into teaching activities. Nguyen Tat Thanh University has become a pioneer in updating teaching methods, developing human resource that meets the society demand, registering for international accreditation AUN in advance, and honorably being the first non-public university to be accredited by the Ministry of Education & Training and receiving 3-star international standard from QS-Stars organization.

According to Associate Professor – Dr. Nguyen Manh Hung, university’s president, in this trend of industry 4.0, Nguyen Tat Thanh University would establish strong connection with the business sector and fulfill social responsibilities to meet the demand for human resource for the ongoing industrial revolution. To promote the development of the education 4.0 model and materialize that objective, Nguyen Tat Thanh University has assembled a research team dedicated for the education 4.0 model with the smart university model lead by several notable lecturers as a highlight. In addition, the university also gives priority to developing infrastructure, building science park, Center of Technology Development, and the High-Tech College in the High-Tech park in District 9, HCM city, with the approximate capital of more than 2000 billion VND. This is a system of teaching centers, research centers, and manufacturing factories that are practical applicable oriented and create a modern environment favorable for experts to study and perfect new technological products according to the Education 4.0 model, successfully connecting the university and business organizations.

The Deputy Minister of Education and Training, Dr. Bui Van Ga, lauded this education 4.0 orientation and saw Nguyen Tat Thanh University as an “opening fire” for the education 4.0 model. The Deputy Minister hoped that Nguyen Tat Thanh University would continue to be innovative in the process of education reform and successfully implement the policy of basic and holistic education modernization in order to provide high-quality human resource that can meet the development demand of Vietnam in the future in accordance with the 4.0 standard nationally and globally.
