In two days of conference, with 6 meetings, there will be 12 speeches by reputable university leaders, professors, researchers from prestigious universities where creative reformation of higher education were happening. Leading experts in education field shared “University 4.0 – A framework for 21st century higher education”, visions, ideas, experiences, and reform solutions for higher education. The conference was the place for meeting, discussing and connecting more than 150 representatives from many countries, namely: Germany, Taiwan, UK, Spain, South Korea, France, Malaysia, USA and Vietnam.
“We hold this conference to learn about university 4.0 model, its features, its application around the world, possible application in Vietnam, and deployment plan in Vietnam. This is also the opportunity for educators, researchers, policy makers to exchange, to share their visions, directions and experience in international education reform to build a modern 21st century education.”, said Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Manh Hung, president of Nguyen Tat Thanh University about the purpose of this international conference.
At the conference, Assoc. Prof. Tran Anh Tuan – Deputy Head of Department for Higher Education – stated, with the impact of the Fourth Industrial Revolution to the education, The Ministry of Education and Training encouraged universities to deploy radical and comprehensive innovation of education and training toward a modern, internationally integrated education. Nguyen Tat Thanh University’s hosting the international conference had demonstrated the determination of the University in the fundamental and comprehensive education reform, approaching to the world trend. Representing the Ministry of Education and Training, Mr. Le Trong Tan also highly expected this international conference. He also stated that through this conference Vietnamese universities would learn from University 4.0 in other countries. What if Vietnamese universities wanted to deploy Education 4.0 and how would it be applied?

12 presentations by speakers, scientists in this conference revolved around the challenges and experiences in building University 4.0 Models, what made a top University 4.0 in the 21st century, sample University 4.0 Models… Prof. Gottfried Vossen (Munster University, Germany), in his speech, raised issues of digitalization and digital conversion that made many subjects as well as everyday activities transformed into digital forms of technological progress. The digitalization had disrupted the universities and their approaches to teaching. In this speech, Prof. Gottfried Vossen would consider the important factors that led to the challenges faced by some universities. After that, the conference would discuss the terms belonging to University 4.0 and finally would report about some methods which University of Munster were applying in modern teaching and learning.
