The voluntary blood donation aims to promote philanthropic motivation, sharing and helping patients who are in need of blood for treatment and sustaining life. The “Donate blood, save life” campaign celebrates the 26th anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnam Textile and Garment Labour Union (September 14, 1996 – September 14, 2022) and the 23rd anniversary of Nguyen Tat Thanh University’s establishment (June 5, 1999 – June 5, 2022). This year’s program attracted significant attention from a majority of staff and lecturers of NTTU.
Blood donation is a noble gesture deriving from the understanding, responsibility and compassion for patients suffering difficulties and critical health issues. The donated blood will contribute to reducing the blood shortage in municipal areas, providing a life-changing opportunity for unfortunate patients who are in need of support from the community. Through this program, NTTU’s students will enhance their responsibilities, awareness, and care for others.
At the program, NTTU staff and lecturers were guided by the medical team including doctors and medical volunteers on how to register for blood donation, medical consultation, health check, blood test. At the end, donors were offered a Certificate of voluntary blood donation, as well as gifts and travel expenses.

Mr. Tran Van Hoa – Ho Chi Minh City Red Cross Blood Donation Center shared: “In the past four days of blood donation campaign, thanks to the assistance of NTTU’s staff and lecturers, all the sessions took place very smoothly. Donating blood is not only beneficial for patients, but also helps donors know their current health conditions. More importantly, blood donation also helps to remove excess iron from the body and facilitate red blood cell production for a healthier body.
Queuing up from early morning for registration, Nguyen Duy Thong – a student of the Faculty of Medical Laboratory Technology shared: “This is my third time donating blood at the University. Every time I donate blood, I feel very blessed because of the happiness of giving. Although this is just a simple way to save a life, it has partly given a new hope to those who need blood transfusion right now.”
