Nguyen Tat Thanh University won at Female Startup Contest – SheFuture 2022

NTTU – SheFuture – Female Startup Student 2022” is a contest co-organized by ForGood Vietnam and University of Economics and Finance of Ho Chi Minh City (UEF) to encourage and develop creative thinking and business inspiration among women, thereby contributing to the realization of the national goals on business development and the national strategy on gender equality.

 

The contest is one of the factors contributing to the development of an innovative start-up ecosystem at institutions in particular and in the southern region in general. The contest for all female students studying at universities, academies and colleges in the southern region will be implemented from September 2022 to December 2022.

Nguyen Tat Thanh University has 8 groups to participate with products: Natural essential oil lip balm; Developing the production of natural essential oil dried perfumes in Vietnam (Faculty of Food and Environmental Engineering); Manage personal information of customers for small and medium enterprises via Blockchain platform (Faculty of Business Administration); Formulation of face wash powder from medicinal herbs; Research on formulating gel for wound healing from python fat, aloe vera and honeysuckle; Hand and foot soaking herb; Processing of fruit peels in the production of green products; Research on the potential and application of orange peel after extracting water in the production of essential oils (Faculty of Pharmacy).

Experiencing intense competition rounds, the ZPAR team with the product “Hand and foot soaking herb” by students Nguyen Ha My Van, Nguyen Thi Ngoc Diem (Faculty of Pharmacy) by lecturer Nguyen Linh Tuyen excellently won the second prize in the final. With raw materials used entirely from natural medicinal herbs, of clear origin, strictly tested according to Vietnam Pharmacopoeia V, without the use of preservatives, colorants and flavorings thanks to the industrial process. The technology is optimized, so the amount of excipients and the total weight are reduced, but the quality of the product ” Hand and foot soaking herb” is marketed to consumers in the form of filter bags soaked in hot water with high technology used to help reduce pain, stiffness, numbness in hands and feet, rheumatism, warmth and ease of sleep, contributing to improving quality of life and improving mental health.

In addition, under the guidance of Tran Bui Phuc, MSc., the students of the Faculty of Food and Environmental Engineering also won the Consolation Prize in the competition with the product “Developing the production of natural essential oil dried perfumes in Vietnam” by the FUSION GIRL group of students Tran Ngoc Yen Nhi, Ha Thi Man, Tran Kim Tuyen. Dry perfume is a form of waxy perfume, which is a combination of concentrated essential oils and a mixture of beeswax, margarine or carrier oil to create a unique scent. Traditional spray perfume, usually a large or fragile glass bottle, easy to pour, dry perfume is an effective and neat solution, it is like a convenient lipstick and powder container. Products using grapefruit and citrus peels after food processing will be extracted into essential oils combined with wax materials imported 100% from Da Lat to produce lip balms, products using natural clean ingredients to bring health benefits, customer trust, moreover, it also solves the story of biological waste coming from food sources.

In addition, the product ” Formulation of face wash powder from medicinal herbs” of the LIONA group includes Nguyen Thi Le Quynh, Phan Thi Ngoc Huyen – students of the Faculty of Pharmacy under the guidance of Nguyen Thi Thu Hien, MSc. also won the Consolation prize at the contest. LIONA’s products are made entirely from natural herbs, the process of preparing and packaging products still retains the inherent active ingredients of medicinal herbs, helping to deep clean and remove harmful agents and unpleasant odors on the skin, giving the user a fresh and refreshing feeling when used, especially helping to reduce skin problems such as irritation, darkening, dullness, folliculitis …

“Developing natural essential oil perfumes in Vietnam” wins the consolation prize

This result shows that students of Nguyen Tat Thanh University are dynamic, enthusiastic young people who always carry the spirit of entrepreneurship and innovation, with the companionship and incubation of NIIC and teachers of the faculties/institute, we believes that the University’s students will be very successful on the path to realizing their dream of starting a business in the future.
