Nguyen Tat Thanh University accompanies Tuoi Tre Newspaper to contribute COVID-19 vaccines

NTTU – Right at the first “opening of university” after Lunar New Year, on March 1, 2021, teachers and students of Nguyen Tat Thanh University joined hands with Tuoi Tre newspaper to support the program to buy preventive vaccines. Covid-19, making a practical contribution to the whole society to overcome the pandemic

During the past year, the COVID-19 pandemic has affected all aspects of social life, and universities have also faced many difficulties. The need to have enough vaccines to vaccinate becomes very urgent, in order to effectively stop the epidemic, ensure life and work return to normal. The government is aiming to vaccinate the entire population free of charge, however, that depends not only on will and determination but also on sufficient financial resources. Understanding the importance, urgency and humanity of the State in the policy of accelerating the fight against the pandemic and giving free vaccinations to all people, as soon as we receive the news that Tuoi Tre has launched “Together with Tuoi Tre Newspaper to donate COVID-19 vaccine”, the Board of Presidents of Nguyen Tat Thanh University has called on all officers, lecturers, staff and more than 20,000 students to join the campaign to support funding for the purchase of  vaccines to prevent the Covid-19 epidemic.

Speaking at the launch of this meaningful campaign, Dr. Tran Ai Cam – President of the university, shared: “This is a very meaningful program. A thread cannot be woven into cloth, and a tree cannot form a forest, so lecturers and students of Nguyen Tat University will join hands to participate in this campaign. I also hope that our university’s contribution will contribute to making our country’s fight against the Covid-19 pandemic more effective, more successful so that each of our people can be safe in the new normal.”

Attending to support the university’s vaccine program, Nguyen Hong Quang, a 4th year student of Human Resources Management, confided: “I’m a student who doesn’t have much money, but I think accumulating the small amount will become great. The more people join hands to contribute, the sooner the vaccine will reach us.” Ngo Dinh Hieu, a final-year nursing student, shared: “Instead of waiting, I want to contribute to making the vaccination day come faster so I can stabilize my studies, go to practice, and graduate on time, stabilize life to help parents”

The university’s time to receive donations for phase 1 is from March 1 to March 15, 2021. After this time, the university will synthesize and return all the raised money to Tuoi Tre newspaper to hand over to relevant agencies to support the purchase of Covid-19 vaccine for service of the entire population.

In 2020, before the situation of acute pneumonia caused by the new strain of Corona virus and the scarcity of hand sanitizer products on the market, the faculty and students of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Faculty of Food and Environmental Engineering Nguyen Tat Thanh University conducts research, prepares hand sanitizer to give to staff and students of the University. The preparation process is carried out in the laboratory, the ingredients are prepared according to the formula of the World Health Organization WHO and can be easily purchased outside such as: Alcohol, Hydrogen peroxide, Glycerol, purified water and natural oils. The production process of hand sanitizer is strictly controlled from the preparation of ingredients to the preparation, bottling, labeling and final product production. This work of lecturers and students of Nguyen Tat Thanh University is not only a beautiful and meaningful act in the journey of joining hands with the whole country to repel the Covid-19 epidemic, but also an opportunity for students of Nguyen Tat University to Thanh applies the knowledge he has learned in practice, promotes creativity and responsibility for the community.
