Brief introduction
Medical Physics is an applied science that uses the knowledge, laws, and phenomena of physics and technical principles in biology and medicine to serve community health care. The Medical Physics major focuses on studying issues related to the application of ionising radiation in disease diagnosis and treatment. Nguyen Tat Thanh University has concentrated on developing a medical physics training program according to international standards with the assistance of the International Atomic Energy Agency and domestic experts. In August 2017, according to Decision No. 3167/QĐ-BGDĐT, Nguyen Tat Thanh University in Ho Chi Minh City became the first institution in the country to be allowed by the Ministry of Education and Training to pilot the undergraduate program in Medical Physics. The undergraduate Medical Physics program at Nguyen Tat Thanh University was developed according to the TCS 56 Medical Physics training framework of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
