Enhancing collaboration with centers and businesses in science, technology, innovation activities and commercialization of scientific research results in the academic year 2022 – 2023

NTTU – On February 3, 2023, Nguyen Tat Thanh University had a meeting with the Youth Science and Technology Development Center, Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union, and HGHT Joint Stock Company to discuss and agree on the specific plan in 2022-2023 to enhance collaboration with centers, businesses and the university on the effective implementation of science, technology, innovation activities and commercialization of scientific research results in the coming time.

Attending the meeting, the Youth Science and Technology Development Center, Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union was represented by MSc. Tran Duc Su – Vice Director; Mr. Hoang Son Giang – Manager of Science Management and Project Development Department; Ms. Hoang Thi Cam Chuong – Deputy Manager of Science Management and Project Development Department; Mr. Le Van Cuong – Deputy Manager of Creative Movement Development Department, and other staff. Representatives from HGHT Joint Stock Company included Mr. Nguyen Truong Giang – Chairman of the Board of Directors; Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Hang – Deputy Finance Director.

From Nguyen Tat Thanh University, there were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Thi Hong – Vice President, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bach Long Giang – Manager of Science and Technology Department; Dr. Tran Viet Thang – Deputy Manager of Science and Technology Department; Dr. Nguyen Huu Thuan Anh – Deputy Manager of Science and Technology Department; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Viet Cuong – Vice Director of NTT Institute of High Technology; Ms. Huynh Hong Mai – Vice Director of NTT Innovation and Incubation Center (NIIC).

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Thi Hong – Vice President sent her greetings to esteemed partners and shared that Nguyen Tat Thanh University has always priotized on scientific research, innovation, and startups over the past years. Recently, Nguyen Tat Thanh University has excellently gone up to the 4th from the 7th place in the Webometrics – Ranking of Vietnam Universities. Those achievements are efforts of the whole university, especially the effective collaboration with local and international partners. Besides, it is necessary to strengthen more the strategic linkage between the university and businesses by singning agreements on training, scientific research, technology transfer, specific tasks.

Collaborative discussion for the 2022 – 2023 academic year

Mr. Tran Duc Su – Vice Director of the Youth Science and Technology Development Center, Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union (TST) hopes to develop more cooperative programs with the university in all aspects, including scientific research, technology transfer, innovation, and start-ups. In particular, it is necessary to focus on artificial intelligence and STEM education, bringing many values to learners and society.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Hang – Deputy Finance Director of HGHT Joint Stock Company, shared for the sustainable development, it is necessary to consider factors related to market trends and key agricultural product sources, technologies, research equipment, building a technology portfolio based on actual needs and capabilities. Therefore, the cooperation between the university and businesses is very important.

In order to continue to maintain the achievements in science and technology, innovation, commercialization of research products, the university actively establishes and expands relationships with agencies, ministries, industries from central to local levels, businesses in the academic year 2022-2023 with the following activities: (1) Promote scientific research topics under the Young Science and Technology Incubation Program, especially topics in the field of digital transformation and artificial intelligence; (2) Host the 25th Euréka Scientific Research Student Award in 2023; (3) Organize scientific seminars and training sessions at all levels, maintaining and developing training, science and technology activities, closely linking research with publication of articles in recognized scientific journals, domestic and international ranking according to regulations; (4) enhance tight connection and develop academic clubs between universities and high schools to organize competitions for entrepreneurship, innovation, and STEM lessons; (5) Propose and implement tasks of applied research, technology transfer, building automation lines, proposing more production methods, ensuring high efficiency in the field of agriculture, technology transportation, building Ho Chi Minh cultural space, etc.

The industrial revolution 4.0 takes place very rapidly and strongly in many aspects of life and society, especially in the fields of science and technology, education, and training… The integration of training, scientific research, and technology transfer to meet practical needs, typically the needs of centers, departments and businesses, play a very important role determining the stable development of the university.
