Development milestones

23 years, a journey is not long but not short, each passing milestone marks the efforts of a collective of officials, lecturers and employees of the University. Coming up from a Vocational School, after only 2 decades, the only university in Vietnam named after Uncle Ho’s youth name, with solidarity, determination and enthusiasm for the cause of education has affirmed itself and then reach out to the great sea to write its name on the educational map of Vietnam and the world.

  • 1999 Garment Workers Training Center under Saigon Textile and Garment Company
  • 2001 Received the Third Class Labor Medal
  • 2002 Nguyen Tat Thanh Technical Vocational School
  • 2005 Nguyen Tat Thanh Vocational Technical and Economics College
  • 2006 Nguyen Tat Thanh College, established the Faculty of Automatic Mechanics
  • 2007 Established the Faculty of Nursing – the forerunner of the Health sector)
  • 2008 Received the Second Class Labor Medal; Established Institute of High Technology and Faculty of Pharmacy
  • 2009 Established NTT Institute of International Education (NIIE), Quality Assurance Committee
  • 2011 Established Nguyen Tat Thanh University – on the basis of upgrading Nguyen Tat Thanh College, including 14 faculties, 54 official training programs and inter-disciplinary training courses at all levels.
  • 2013 Commencement of construction of An Phu Dong campus, District 12, HCMC.
  • 2016 Received First Class Labor Medal, inaugurated An Phu Dong campus with an area of ​​35,200 m², total investment capital of 500 billion VND; Commencement of construction of Technology Development Center of Nguyen Tat Thanh University with a total investment capital of over 1,100 billion VND; Meet the international 3-star quality standard of the QS Organization (UK).
  • 2017 Meet the quality standards of educational institutions of the Ministry of Education and Training; Reached the top 10 typical brands in Asia Pacific 2017 of QMS Service Certification Group (Australia); Become an associate member of the ASEAN University Network (AUN).
  • 2018 Received the title of Typical Enterprise from the Business Association of Ho Chi Minh City; Being the first non-public university in the South to be allowed to train in Medicine (general doctor) and opening the Polyclinic of Nguyen Tat Thanh University.
  • 2019 There are 2 programs recognized to meet the quality standards of educational institutions according to Circular 04/2016/TT-BGDĐT (Hotel Administration, Electronic Engineering); – Ranked 5th in the country for internationally published research (ranking results of Institute for Scientific Information – ISI); – Meet the 4-star international quality standard of the QS Organization (UK).
  • 2020 There are 4 programs meeting AUN-QA standards (Business Administration, Information Technology, English Language, Finance – Banking); – One more training program meeting the accreditation standards according to Circular 04/2016/TT-BGDDT (Pharmacy); – Meet the 4-star standard of the university quality comparison ranking system of Vietnam and the region – UPM; – Typical enterprises of Ho Chi Minh City 2020; – The only non-public university in Ho Chi Minh City reached the Top 20 on scientific research indicators in the UPM university rankings of Vietnam; – Top 12 Vietnamese universities in the URAP World Ranking.
