Brief introduction

Vietnam’s Logistics and Supply Chain Management (SCM) workforce is currently facing a shortage and lacks proper training to meet the industry’s development needs. Most employees and managers in this field gain knowledge through practical experience working as agents or partners for foreign companies specializing in these services. With an average annual growth rate of 30%, the current logistics workforce only meets about 40% of societal demands. Nguyen Tat Thanh University, aiming to become a multi-disciplinary applied university with high international integration, has recognized the importance of training human resources in this field. Based on internal and external assessments and labor market surveys, the university decided to offer a Logistics and SCM program to meet current social needs. In accordance with relevant educational regulations, on June 18, 2019, the Ministry of Education and Training permitted Nguyen Tat Thanh University to provide undergraduate-level training in Logistics and SCM. Subsequently, on November 1, 2019, the university established the Department of Logistics and SCM under the Faculty of Business Administration. To date, the Faculty of Business Administration has enrolled and trained three cohorts in this specialization. The curriculum is designed with an applied approach, divided into 10 semesters over 3.5 years. The training outcomes, reflected in the quality of graduates and various scientific research programs and projects, have made significant practical contributions and received positive recognition from the community, businesses, and society.
