Nguyen Tat Thanh University continuously promotes, disseminates entrepreneurial – innovative cultural values

NTTU – After 2 years of implementing the strategic development vision following the smart university model with an orientation towards entrepreneurial and innovative initiatives, Nguyen Tat Thanh University has achieved impressive preliminary results. It has been strongly promoting entrepreneurial and innovation activities in training, scientific research, and community service; igniting the desire for creative incubation, boosting participation in many national student start-up programs, and forming start-up networks in universities and colleges nationwide…

Diverse Entrepreneurial and Innovative Activities
From that development orientation, many entrepreneurial and innovative activities have taken place at Nguyen Tat Thanh University (NTTU), including collaborating with partners such as the National Advisory Council for Entrepreneurship and Innovation, the Southern Advisory Council for Entrepreneurial Support, BK Holdings, the Department of Science and Technology of Ho Chi Minh City to successfully organized 3 workshops on entrepreneurship university, 2 training classes on mentoring coaching, and ToT classes on entrepreneurship and innovation. These events trained 98 mentors, 32 ToT entrepreneurial innovation instructors and 60 experts in the NTTU entrepreneurial support network, developing this network with 100 experts, including those mobilized from the business sector.

Nguyen Tat Thanh University students won many awards with entrepreneurial projects

The university also collaborated with Ho Chi Minh City Student Cultural House and Design Thinking Village to successfully organize 3 entrepreneurship and innovation competitions for students of NTTU and other universities nationwide, which were “Students with creative startup ideas 2023″, “Packaging design for innovative startups”, and Design Thinking Open Innovation competition. In addition, the university successfully connected 46 Mentor-Mentee pairs for competition projects.

NTTU continued to incubate 30 projects of students and startups to participate in national and international entrepreneurship competitions. NTTU teams excellently achieved initial successes in external playgrounds such as winning the first and second prizes in the Digital Business Idea round of the Digital Business Competition for Students 2023, Top 10 and Top 20 in the National Program to Develop Startup Projects, 6 projects in Top 15 of SHE FUTURE competition and currently proceeding with the next rounds..

Concerning these achievements, Dr. Tran Ai Cam, President of Nguyen Tat Thanh University, said: “Our university has built an entrepreneurial and innovative culture and initially established a coherent approach across all areas from administration, leadership management, training, scientific research, and community service to the services provided by the university. Entrepreneurship and innovation are not carried out individually but create spreading changes, construct the ecosystem, and form and promote entrepreneurial and innovative cultural values to help the university achieve its mission.”

A year with many outstanding achievements in entrepreneurial and innovative initiatives
In 2023, Nguyen Tat Thanh University signed 15 Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) on developing entrepreneurship and innovation with partners such as the People’s Committee of Hau Giang Province, the Department of Science and Technology of provinces and cities, arboretums, research institutes, incubation centers, and Advisory Council for Entrepreneurial Support… This opened up cooperative relationships that contributed to NTTU Entrepreneurial Network.

With the efforts of its faculty and students, in 2023 NTTU also achieved significant successes, including 3 Second Prizes in 3 categories of the 5th Student Entrepreneurial Ideas Competition organized by the Ministry of Education and Training; the First Prize, Third Prize, and 3 Consolation Prizes in the 25th “Eureka Student Scientific Research Competition”…

The entrepreneurial and innovative ecosystem of Nguyen Tat Thanh University is a large network connected with reputable partners such as Ho Chi Minh City Department of Science and Technology, Ho Chi Minh City Student Cultural House, NTTU Business Club, National Advisory Council for Entrepreneurship and Innovation, Southern Advisory Council for Entrepreneurial Support, Design Thinking Village… as well as enterprises and experts in the field of entrepreneurship and innovation, contributing to building an increasingly strong and developing entrepreneurial ecosystem, while spreading the entrepreneurial spirit and culture to students of NTTU and other universities nationwide.

In 2023, NTTU ran 20 classes to enhance entrepreneurial and innovative capabilities, while running 2 Mentoring classes for other universities and provincial officials. This contributed to building a community entrepreneurial ecosystem.

Recognized as one of the pioneering higher education institutions with an entrepreneurial and innovative university model, Nguyen Tat Thanh University’s approach, establishment, and dissemination of the entrepreneurial and innovative university culture are not only entirely suitable for the changing higher education landscape but also adapt to the development strategy and orientation of Ho Chi Minh City, which is to “promote innovation based on the development of science and technology as a foundation; establish and boost the development of entrepreneurship, innovation and AI centers in Ho Chi Minh City”.

This 2024, as Nguyen Tat Thanh University approaches its 25th anniversary, the university will continue to vigorously implement the entrepreneurial and innovative university strategy, with an open ecosystem mobilizing all resources to fully promote all 3 pillars which are education – training, scientific research, and community-serving innovation.
