Piano students of Nguyen Tat Thanh University delivers their graduation performances in concert forms with a professional orchestra

NTTU – Magnificent, emotional, and visually stunning are the words used to describe the graduation performance “Journey Concert” by eight piano students from the Faculty of Music and Film at Nguyen Tat Thanh University, held on the morning of September 18 in Hall C207.

Special guests included Mrs. Trần Vĩnh Quốc Hạnh, Director of the Phím Đàn Xanh Music Center, the main sponsor; Conductor Dustin Tiêu; Pianist Trần Yến Nhi; along with the families and friends of the graduates. Notably, the support of the Imagine Philharmonic Orchestra was also highlighted.

Representatives of Nguyen Tat Thanh University were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Trần Thị Hồng, Vice President; Ms. Nguyễn Thị Ánh Tuyết, Dean, Faculty of Music and Film; Ms. La Quế Anh, Acting Head of the Piano Department; along with their families, friends, and especially the eight graduates majoring in piano.

In her opening speech, Ms. Nguyễn Thị Ánh Tuyết stated that this is the first time piano students from Nguyen Tat Thanh University have performed their graduation with a professional orchestra. She noted that this experience brings students closer to the professional stage and enhances their understanding of orchestral music, which has always been referred to as a “magnificent soundscape.” Additionally, she expressed hope for more large-scale, professionally prepared performances in the future.

At the Journey Concert, the eight piano students from the 2021 intake performed 15 pieces, including 8 solo performances and collaborative pieces with the Imagine Philharmonic Orchestra. With their skillful piano competence and professional orchestral arrangements, the Journey Concert delivered a range of melodic experiences that captivated the audience.

Đồng Vũ Trà My expressed heartfelt gratitude to the teachers for their lessons and sincere guidance throughout the three years of study. Additionally, she extended deep thanks to the parents who have always been supportive, providing a solid foundation for the future pianists to confidently complete study.

The graduation performance is an annual event for students from the faculty of Music and Film. Through these practical experiences, students enhance their musical thinking and aesthetic appreciation, while also gaining the opportunity to experience the stage, master their vocal and instrumental skills, and melodies during their performances.
